Softball is a variation of baseball that is played on a smaller diamond and uses a larger, softer ball that is pitched underhand. In our league, players ages 7 to 9 play in the new mite division and players ages 10 to 16 play in either a girls or boys division.

Registration information for Softball:

The 2012 Registration Fee for youth Softball is $70per player.
Our league runs from mid-April until June.
Games are played twice weekly, as listed below, from 6:15 pm - 8:30 pm and a weekly practice will be held. The practice is set by the team’s coach.
You will need a baseball glove and a pair of regular running shoes to play.
Each player receives a team photo, team shirt and hat, and a medal or trophy on championship day.

Game days:

Mite Division (ages 7-9): Mondays and Wednesdays
Boys Softball (ages 10-16): Mondays and Wednesdays
Girls Softball (ages 10-16): Tuesdays and Thursdays
Please note: For the 2012 season, the league hopes that registration numbers will allow us to further divide the youth softball groups into smaller age categories.

All About T-Ball

T-ball is a game ideal for 4 to 6 year olds. It is similar to softball but has a few key differences. For example, a fielded team consists of 11 players, 2 more than in regular softball. The two extra players are part of a five-player outfield. Also, there is no pitched ball. The ball is placed on a flexible stand (the Tee) on home plate, and the batter hits it from there. An inning continues until all players have had a turn at bat each inning regardless of the number of ‘outs’. T-ball is fun because every player gets to participate in hitting and fielding each inning. Also, in the Don Victoria Softball League, all players are rotated between the infield and outfield each game. T-Ball is the game where children can learn about softball and develop skills in throwing, catching and running the bases. Generally, more than half of our T-ball players each year have never played before.
